The Supreme court, Tuesday proclaimed Senator Hope Uzodinma, applicant of the decision All Progressives Congress, APC, as properly chose legislative leader of Imo State.
It, accordingly, requested the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to pull back the declaration of come back from previous Governor, Emeka Ihedioha and issue Uzodinma testament of return as legislative head of the state.
Conveying the judgment, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun said the votes due to Uzodinma and APC from 318 surveying units were wrongly prohibited and ought to be included.
Every day POST reviews that Uzodinma had before certified in his intrigue at the lower courts that the votes he scored at the 318 surveying units were prohibited to support the previous representative on the March 9, 2019 governorship decisions.
It is on this premise the preeminent court maintained that Ihedioha was not truly chosen by lion’s share of the absolute votes cast in the said political decision, subsequently, Uzodinma was inevitably pronounced as the appropriately chosen legislative head of the state.
In the mean time, the zenith court has planned to convey judgment on Sokoto Guber request against Governor Aminu Tambuwal of the state on Monday, March 20.
